Cell Line Characterization, including Isoenzyme Analysis and Karyotyping / Cytogenetic Analysis

Applied Genetics has been offering cell characterization services to companies and research institutes in the areas of medicine, pharmaceuticals, tissue engineering and vaccine production since 1984. The cell characterization service offers a cytogenetic service including karyotyping, chromosome aberration analysis, chromosome count, and determination of modal chromosome number, and offers isoenzyme analysis service for species identification. The karyotyping service provides G-banded karyotypes suitable for publication. All services comply with the FDA Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and can be tailored to the client’s specific needs.

Hybloc™ Competitor DNA, a Cot-1 DNA® equivalent!

Hybloc™ Competitor DNA, which is Cot-1 DNA®, is the repetitive sequence fraction of genomic DNA. Hybloc™ DNA may be effectively substituted for any other competitor DNA (i.e., Cot-1 DNA®, salmon sperm, etc.) for fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), Southern blots, microarray technology, or any other protocol requiring competition to prevent repetitive DNA from binding to the target. Hybridization with Hybloc™ competitor DNA shows a marked increase in signal intensity and a significant decrease in the amount of background noise associated with non-specific binding of repetitive DNA.

Human Metaphase Slides

Male or female human metaphase slides are available for use in various fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) protocols. Slides for other species, suitable for FISH protocols, are available on special request.
